APPROACH
I work with flowers as a living language of time, place, and perception.
My floral practice brings several lineages into dialogue.
From more than ten years of studying Ikenobō, the oldest school of Japanese ikebana, I carry an attention to seasonality, asymmetrical balance, restraint, and the quiet authority of each botanical material — allowing each plant to retain its own natural presence.
From western floral design and structural floristry, I draw on architectural clarity, proportion, volume, negative space, and the compositional strength of form.
From Chinese tea practice and Chinese floral aesthetics, I value generosity, spatial breathing, cultivated restraint, and the role of emptiness as an active part of the composition.
My background in art history has shaped the way I look at flowers: not only through beauty, but through formal language, symbolism, iconography, material presence, and expression. I work both richly and quietly — sometimes through layered structures and complex floral mechanics, sometimes through the simplest gesture, with no artificial support at all.
Every plant is treated as living material, never as mere ornament. I work with care, seasonal awareness, and minimal waste, accepting only a limited number of commissions each day so that each piece can receive the time and attention it deserves.
