At South of the Clouds, beauty begins in the particular.
It appears in an iris bending after rain, in the lightly withered edge of a camellia, in a vase placed slightly off centre.
It reveals itself in the amber clarity of tea, in bitterness softening into sweetness, in a teabowl carrying the trace of repair.
It is present in the quiet of a room before guests arrive, in the moment ceremony gives way to warmth, in a word searched for, missed, and finally understood.
These are the details that move us: small, living traces of imperfection, transience, and care.
They ask for attention.They reward slowness.They remind us that beauty is life made visible.
For us, beauty lies in the way something is held, arranged, prepared, and shared.
Sometimes it is no more than this: the scent of osmanthus caught in a sleeve, water beginning to murmur before the boil, a single stem placed so lightly that the whole room seems to gather into harmony.
Through flowers, tea, and shared experiences, South of the Clouds seeks to shape a quality of attention — one that softens the heart, deepens perception, and brings us closer to what is essential.
To honour beauty is to honour life:in its vulnerability, its brevity, and its quiet, irreducible preciousness.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
South of the Clouds began with a quiet question:how can beauty become a more attentive way of living?
Its founder was born in Yunnan, in the cultural landscape of the Bai people, where nature, plants, tea, food, craftsmanship, and seasonal rituals are part of everyday life rather than separate disciplines.
Later, Munich became home, a place where a new family life, a quieter rhythm, and a life between cultures gradually took shape.
Like many paths, hers did not begin with a grand design, but with a simple human longing to understand life more deeply and to inhabit it more fully.
There were difficult seasons, too - times of uncertainty, fragility, illness, and loss of direction. What remained was a quiet wish to keep learning: how to stay open, how to listen, and how to meet the world with a little more softness.
Languages and literature have long been part of this path. They taught her to listen for nuance: for what is said, what is left unsaid, and what lives quietly between people, cultures, and ways of seeing.
With more than ten years of study in Ikenobō and Eastern floral traditions, a PhD in Art History, and continued practice in tea and mindfulness, her work is shaped by both training and tenderness.
Yet South of the Clouds is not built around milestones.
It is built around what attention slowly reveals.
Attention to colour, texture, structure, scent, silence, and timing.
Through flowers, tea, language, art, and contemplative practice, South of the Clouds invites a slower way of seeing — one that makes room for care, sensation, memory, and connection.
Therefore, South of the Clouds works through selected private commissions — each accepted with the time, care, and sensitivity its occasion deserves.

Quality, creativity, and considered care.
South of the Clouds serves Munich and the surrounding region.
Our private atelier and teaching space are located near Munich Airport. Modern, discreet, and appointment-only, it is a place for making, preparing, learning, and gathering.
Floral works, course preparations, vessels, tea settings, and many quiet details are brought together here with care.
Ikebana classes, children’s workshops, mindfulness sessions, and weekend tea gatherings also unfold here in small, focused settings.
Some works are created or installed on site, according to the client, the occasion, and the space — in private homes, corporate interiors, hotels, or event venues.
Yet most beginnings take place here: in a space of concentration, order, and attentive making.
